Behind the Scenes
How did we get here? Our previous website, which rolled out in 2015, was reaching the end of its service life. So, in preparation for the big 4-0, we embarked on an effort to give ourselves a new look and feel.
The SMPS DC Website Task Force was established one year ago and charged with researching different web platforms and determining how we could better leverage SMPS Headquarters resources.
After reviewing SMPS chapter websites from coast to coast and interviewing chapter webmasters, we decided to transition to the StarChapter platform. The new site better aligns with SMPS Headquarters and our fellow chapters across North America, providing you a consistent member experience regardless of location.

A HUGE thank you to the team that guided our chapter through this process and helped create the site you see today – Jen McGovern, Courtney Messick, Laura Ewan, Jordan Garren, Laura Petersen, and Jessica Collins. We’re grateful for your hard work over the past year and are proud of the end product.
