Event Recap: Swinging into Summer with SMPS DC

In early June, SMPS DC members gathered at The Dubliner to kick off summer with drinks, food and tons of networking with a few slices of citrus fun thrown in. It was a great way to reconnect with everyone at the end of our program year, hear the success stories of our chapter and celebrate the accomplishments of the year.
We recognized our current and outgoing 2022-2023 Board of Directors - those that led us through our 40th chapter year. These folks did amazing things for our chapter including our 40th bash in the Fall, our membership engagement path, multiple education events, a successful CPSM bootcamp and guru guidance program and welcomed so many new members to our chapter.

In addition - we welcomed our new President Elect - Abby Harrington to the stage to hear her plans for the upcoming year and introduce her new Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 program year. Abby has great ambition for the chapter and her Board and will be leading our Strategic Plan guiding us for the next 3-5 years leading our chapter to great success.
The incoming 2023-2024 Board of Directors welcomes five new members and is happy to have many returning members continuing their existing term commitments.

Congratulations to all our winners!
This year, the membership engagement committee awarded two student scholarships that included both a student membership and a $2,500 educational stipend to two winners that applied to our student grant. Thank you to Karen Cotton for coordinating this amazing outreach program and to our two winners - Tyler Alberico and Nathan Gallagher.
Overall it was a successful event and we hope everyone had a fantastic time connecting with one another. We sure enjoyed seeing you out and about!
